When she asks him about this, he nonchalantly tells her he used to buy girls super-expensive gifts just to ask them out and have lunch with him. But after giving away millions of dollars to beautiful women, he realized it wasn't worth the trouble and quit his high-paying job just to stay home and dick around. He also decided that treating women nicely and taking care of himself was also not something he needed to do now that he wasn't going after beautiful girls any more.
He concludes by stating, "I don't know why you care about my history, it doesn't concern you at all. When I used to buy girls 10k worth of jewelry on a first date I was being superficial. Now I have you, who I don't have to be nice to or buy anything. That's true love."
