@Creep
Lmao just randomly picked up a book by my side and turned to a random page and discovered this bit:
John M Gottman is one of America's foremost researchers on marriage. In 1999, he published an intriguing study which tracked 130 newlyweds, carefully observing how the couples interacted with each other and then following up the research for six years to see which marriages were happy and stable, and which ended in divorce.
Gottman and his colleagues recorded their surprise at the outcome:
"Men should forget all that psychobabble about active listening and validation. If you want your marriage to last for a long time...just do what your wife says. Go ahead, give in to her...The marriages that did work all had one thing in common--the husband was willing to give in to the wife. We found that only those newlywed men who are accepting of influence from their wives are ending up in happy, stable marriages."
The author of the book ("The Sex Diaries") goes on to say...
So now it is men who are more emotionally dependent on their relationships--they are the ones choosing to bite their tongues and put up with unsatisfactory sexual relationships in order to stay with the women they love, and to avoid losing their families. It seems that Skyhooks were right when they sung 'All my Friends are Getting Married' -- men really are doing what they're told.
