I remember in 2017 when I visited North Carolina with my family, we rented a cabin in the mountains in the west of NC.
Me and my dad decided that since we were in the south we could try shooting so we found a gun range in this small town in Tennessee right on the border with NC.
I remember we got to pick any gun we wanted, put it in a box alongside the ammunition and they sent us off with our protective headphones.
No instructor lol! Even though we told them it was my first time ( Not my dad though ).
I was baffled at how easily we got through everything and got to have fun shooting.
I could've also killed myself at any moment there with the amount of weaponry I had at my disposal.
At the end I didn't because I was too scared but still, that was great.
In the Netherlands it's much much harder to even go to a gun range and shoot.
And when you pass the many paper works etc. you have an instructor standing literally a few centimeters away from you.
If only I was a US citizen to be honest.
I love the gun culture there.
