The chracters are about to get into a fight, or some other action sequence, and they all chime in with dumb things to say right before getting punched. And then after the action is over, or any break in-between, more dumb sarcastic lines are thrown in.

Movies are really dumb. Nobody wants to make the 'fall' movie which allows antagonists to win (okay a few, very few, exceptions) so the audience already knows 1000% going in that the protagonists will come out on top in the end.

Writers need to have some balls to actually just kill of characters, entire franchises. "Oooops, Batman died, okay this intellectual property can now be retired forever, Batman has failed a mission and died, it's been a good run."
