Straight whiskey was one of the only alcoholic drinks that I could usually get away with and bad hangovers. But I still had to not drink very much and always had to drink a lot of water before going to bed (make sure I take a big piss before sleeping).

Getting suitably drunk enough while avoiding hangovers was always a tough balance. And it gets harder and more annoying the older you get. Eventually my hangovers got so bad I can't drink anything anymore

Club soda and Disaronno is one of my favorite drinks. Disaronno can be substituted with any cheap amaretto.
