Well mathamatically they're correct. To a 60 year old one year is 1/60th of their life so it wont feel like a long time at all but to a 10 year old its literally 1/10th of their life.

In part, yes. But it's also due to the way the brain perceives time with age. Weeks and months are flying by much faster than than 7-8 years ago when i was a young teenager
