Although I’m in agreement with the moral and ethical teachings of Christianity, I find their other teachings to be just mere fantasy and depressing and very toxic.

There’s nothing good about the gospel. What’s so great about it? That we live in a fallen world where almost everyone is going to hell but that only a small, invisible minority of people will actually avoid damnation? Really? That’s far more depressing than nihilism or atheism.

All religions lead to the same summit there is more than one way up a mountain. The exoteric aesthetic and ethical aspects are adapted to time and place but the esoteric doctrinal symbolism all converge as signposts on the path up the mountain all that is left is for the aspirant is to experience for themselves, just as describing something is not the thing itself.
