Think of this in extremes: What would people prefer? Having at their disposal all the sex they desire, with whoever they desire, and whenever they desire; but having to live in a 323sqf / 30m2 apartment with just enough to eat? ... Or having all the money in the world and being very powerful, but being celibate for life? Most men would choose option 1 (politicians may not be a good sample given their inclination for power), while most women would choose option 2. This is how different and dependent men and women are. Women value power, wealth and protection; and this is what they seek in a man. On the contrary, men value access to sex above everything else, and this is what they want the most from women. Whoever invented enforced monogamy in the past, realized that and decided to create a system guaranteeing sex to every man, for the sake of social stability. The counterpart was the responsibility of the man to provide for and protect his family. Enforced monogamy was in origin sexual communism, which was certainly oppressive against the majority of women given that it suppresses their inherent hypergamous nature. A significant minority of women, though, those who married high quality men, benefited from having the catch officially only for them (Figure 2). Flower Power Tax is a much softer redistributive tool (akin to economic socialism), that will only focus on re-assigning part of the value of sex without making moral considerations nor forcing anyone to do anything they do not want to do. Complete freedom of choice and change will be respected. There will not be sexual quotas in favor of men, nor a search for true equality; as on the other hand feminism does intend in the labor market, with its determination to close the income and social power gaps. Only a tax to redistribute part of the value in the case of the sexual market.
