Thinking that some mad man from the filthy Pentagon is indirectly helping them is a really low IQ trait; however, some of their actions on the military level has helped ISIS' combat capabilities during certain days/weeks & weather conditions. Yes, the Americans helped the "ISI (Iraq)" to rebuild up their ranks by creating a security vaccuum, followed by a sectarian conflict (lasting as of today, mostly in Northern/Central Iraq and especially in the countryside) after the defunct leader Omar al Baghdadi, especially during the Abu Ghraib prison break in 2013.

Many minor factions in the entire world pledged allegiance to ISIS, especially because of their well-organized propaganda wing and its effectiveness to boost influence on fractured muslim communities, and especially, on the internet sphere; something that, "unfortunately" in the logical sense, Al Qaeda and other similar organizations lack.
