Whether it be buying drinks for feeahamayle or helping a friend move or loaning money to someone who promises to pay you back (esp don't do this! better just to say you are broke...rebuttal: "then why do you have nice things?" just say all bought on credit or something).

Even around Christmas, I've seen things that I thought I should buy as a gift for a friend that would make me feel good about being in the holiday spirit ...but guess what? i didn't even get Merry Christmas card/email/call from them anyway. money and sense of honor saved.(btw ended up not buying gifts)
