Boomers say that the 80s was the best decade for movies but I disagree. There are indeed so many good movies from the 80s but also so much garbage, it was the decade of bad slasher movies (usually the first one is good but the sequels are awful) and repetitive action films with the popular actors (Stallone, Schwarzenegger, etc.) that were a hit or miss. It was the begining of commercial blockbusters and normie movies, they saw that the same formula worked and gave a lot of cash so they did the same plot over and over and over but with different actors and setting and people still bought it. If we compare the 80s decade with the 70s and 90s, we can find more movies of better quality from those decades. Not saying that all movies in the 70s and 90s were masterpieces but there are so many memorable movies from those years while the 80s had less memorable movies. However I agree that 80s movies are in general better than 2000s and 2010s movies, not the best decade but still good.
Regarding TV shows and specially cartoons as you grow up you see that boomers are blind by nostalgia, 80s cartoons are fucking awful and boring when you're older because the plot of every episode is very repetitive (the main guys are chillin, the bad guy has a new invent to cause chaos, they fight, good guys win and the bad guys escape) and were made basically to sell toys. Doesn't matter if it's He-Man, Gi Joe, TMNT, Transformers, etc. Last summer I downloaded the full TMNT series from the 80s and I dropped it at the third episode because it was so boring and slow, I loved the show when I was a kid but it hasn't aged well. Also He-Man suffers from recycling animation even more than the old Hanna Barbera cartoons and it looks very silly kek. 90s, 2000s and early 2010s cartoons were more ambitious and varied with better plot and animation.
