4chan itself jumped the shark years ago, and most of the content on imageboards is shit, but that's not the point. Imageboards (along with this place and a few others) are some of the very very very few places left on the internet where you can have a discussion about topics outside what's condoned by the ruling powers (media elite, tech oligarchs, etc). It doesn't matter that 99% of imageboard posts are spergy jackassery, that other 1% is so insanely valuable that I'll defend the "system" as a whole. It disappoints me when people here say shit like "imageboards got boring so I don't care if they get deplatformed and the entire internet becomes facebook".
