1. The people who are striving to be “without ego” are doing so for their own self interest, so it’s just as egoistic; it is even more egoistic because other people are actually honest with themselves.
It’s the equivalent of a cat saying “I am above contributing to the pain and suffering of other animals so I refuse to eat cat food”, so you end up dying because you’re a cat. The universe doesn’t give two yaps about your cat enlightenment. Cats will continue to eat cat food and life goes on. Until the cats all die, and then there’s no point anymore.
2. Being “ego-less” doesn’t help in your life at all. Have you browsed Instagram and seen the couples on there? Their levels of maturity are so ridiculous (like women posting about their daily emotional breakdowns to their boyfriends or bragging about the sex they get) yet they will look down on you for being immature because you are a sexless loser.
Most people in relationships have not EARNED it. It just happened over the course of their life, either through dating apps or through friends.
Don’t ever let anybody claim they are “above you” because you have an ego. It’s gaslighting, if someone truly didn’t have an ego, they wouldn’t be bragging about it trying to make themselves look better.

But in “Conservatism”, there is no gold standard. The gold standard is what was liberal 30 years ago. It keeps changing and progressing, just at a slower pace.
Ben Shapiro talks about playing Doom and Matt Walsh played Mortal Kombat. In the 90s, Conservatives would have had an autism storm about that with video games causing school shootings, and Liberals would have been mocking them playing doom and Mortal Kombat on tv or something.
Most conservatives are kind of accepting of gay marriage now, just like liberals were kind of accepting of gay marriage in the 90s.
In 30 years, we’ll have a normalization of beyond-binary trans people and sex work, and conservatives will long for the day where they paid for OnlyFans and only allowed Transgender males and females.

And people were having sex before marriage way before. Ever heard of the roaring 20s? That was 100 years ago. And definitely way before.
As people started getting married later in life, sexual norms changed to reflect that. It’s just that religion, designed at a time when people got married at 12, didn’t officially catch up (but healthy good ministers, priests, and rabbis always gave a wink wink nudge nudge “it’s fallen human nature”).
