It was worth it to save a few thousand 85+ year olds from dying (6 months earlier than they otherwise would have) though. The kind of people who would die from regular flu every year. Yes its entirely possible that engineering the virus was just a ploy to scare the world into taking the vaccine which was the real payload all along. Then Covid-21 will have already been engineered to be invaulnerable to Covid-19 antibodies, and either have 100% mortality or sterilize the entire population so they can't have children.
